Hunan Provincial Outdoor Elite Challenge kicks off in Longshan

The China Sports Lottery “Xiongbao 2024” Hunan Provincial Outdoor Elite Challenge was held in Liye Town, Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on November 23. More than 200 outdoor athletes from all over the country participated in it.
The opening ceremony kicked off with a festive dance. The dance “Boatmen’s Chant on Youshui River” showcased the spiritual style of the boatmen and unique cultural charm on the Youshui River, igniting the enthusiasm of the contestants and on-site audience.
This competition was a team event that lasted for two days, with a total distance of approximately 70 kilometers. It included items such as mountain biking, cross-country running, rubber kayaking, puzzle solving, and victory wall. On November 23, the total length of the track was about 36 kilometers, with a cumulative climb of 1,433 meters and a cumulative descent of 1,433 meters.
At 8:30 am, the contestants rode from the Liye Qin Slips Museum, and arrived at the parking lot on the top of the Bamian Mountain, where they had a short rest and began off-road running competition, then passed through such places as Dayanmen, Yijiabao, and Liye No.1, and finally returned to the Liye Qin Slips Museum. When they crossed the finishing line, they all had smiles on their faces.
